How Emergency Callouts Work

2. If we're in your area and have availability, we'll confirm a same-day visit within 30 minutes
3. If we're not nearby, we'll offer the next available slot or talk you through a temporary fix over the phone
4. Emergency visits are 1 hour — diagnosis and repair on the spot where possible

Weekend and evening emergencies: Bookings are confirmed or declined within 30 minutes. If not confirmed in that window, the booking automatically cancels so you're not left waiting.

While You Wait — Manual Release Instructions

Most electric gates have a manual release that lets you push the gate open by hand. This won't fix the fault, but it'll get your car out while you wait for your engineer.

CAME Motors

Look for a triangular key slot on the motor housing. Insert the key (usually supplied with the gate) and turn. The motor disengages and the gate swings freely.

BFT Motors

There's usually a release lever or key on the motor. On underground BFT motors, the access point is at ground level behind a small cover plate.

Nice Motors

Nice motors typically have a key release on the motor body. Turn the key and the gate can be moved manually.

Sliding Gates

Most sliding gate motors have a lever or handle that disengages the drive gear. Pull or turn the release mechanism and slide the gate open by hand.

We'll talk you through the manual release over the phone so you can get your car out. Then we'll book you into the next available slot — usually the next morning.

Do you charge extra for evenings and weekends?

Emergency callouts are a flat £270+VAT regardless of when they happen. There's no additional surcharge for evenings, weekends, or bank holidays on emergency visits.

What should I tell you when I call?

Three things help your engineer prepare: (1) Does the gate make any sound when you try to operate it? (2) Do the photocell sensor lights change when you wave your hand in front? (3) Do any remotes, keypads, or push-buttons get any response? This helps us bring the right parts.
